its August, 2012. I am now mid way between a regular job and that desolate place where philosophers try to amalgamate their thoughts. A lot has happened. Lots of movement. The philosopher has moved out of the cave of dead intellectuals and lives under the bright sky, slightly more open to flying, primarily because it allows you to survey the land, analyze and investigate.

This in turn will create work that will rain down on the landscape (rather than just exist as a pretty bowlful of decay somewhere within the confines of a niche cave, full of dead intellectuals)

so what has been stewing in my head?

punk rock, punk aesthetic, punk behavior, gender equality, ridiculous indian society's attitude towards women and men too actually.

snippets of the idea: gutsy women out at night going wild in the city. radical women bordering on sociopathic tendencies. a purposeful extremism to provoke.

"What we have in common is impudence, politically loaded lyrics, the importance of feminist discourse and a non-standard female image" - Pussy Riot, Russian feminist punk-rock collective that stages politically provocative impromptu performances in Moscow on Russia's current political life.

But in the land of 'saas bhi kabhi bahu thi', my path is treacherous.

Ideally i would want to unearth the subtle ways in which patriarchy is reinforced in our lives and how we ourselves are party to our own demotion on the gender scale (if at all there is even one)
Once unearthed, that is what these women will set out to achieve in my film - destruction as a metaphor for revolution in our perceptions. bombarding the senses with the grotesque to enable real perception. the narrative has to be epic drama for it to take effect.

I have a lot of work to do!
